With many unaware of the environmental dangers to Lake Winnipesaukee and the work LWA was doing to protect against them, they needed to take action. LWA reached out to MAYO to help rebrand the organization with a goal of increasing public awareness and engagement.
With a dramatic increase in cyanobacteria blooms as well as other environmental challenges impacting the health of the lake, LWA was concerned. Beyond the implications of these threats, there was a low level of awareness about this problem and, among those aware, feelings of apathy or helplessness to solve it. LWA reached out to MAYO to refresh their current brand and website to rally the community and their support.
MAYO conducted primary research to understand the strongest connection to the lake, including what people loved most and what they would miss if these threats jeopardized its health. From there we developed a brand strategy, executing changes to the name, logo, visual identity and messaging. In addition, we provided a brand campaign and refined the website content.
In the months following the launch, the non-profit exceeded their annual fundraising goal, advancing their 2025 agenda.
